Marvel’s Wolverine is less than a month from launch, and Insomniac Games has now given players one of the clearest looks yet at how Logan will actually play. A new features trailer focuses on the systems underneath the game’s deliberately aggressive combat rather than simply showing another montage of claws and gore.
Combat is built around momentum. Players can unlock Techniques for new moves and equip four rechargeable Special Techniques at once. Adaptations work as another layer of customization, changing things such as bullet resistance, Rage effectiveness and parry timing.
Rage itself is a three-tier resource designed around survivability and escalating aggression. Insomniac says the system can help Logan survive when a fight turns against him, while also rewarding players who keep attacking instead of backing away.
The trailer also expands the picture outside combat. Wolverine can use his senses to locate Nightmare Doors, whisky bottles tied to forgotten memories and material crates used to craft suits. Outfits draw from Weapon X, Old Man Logan, Ultimate Wolverine and other versions of the character, while different claw styles can also be unlocked.
At launch, the game includes New Game Plus, Mission Replay and Nightmare Challenges. Photo Mode is planned through a day-one update, and Insomniac says the game includes more than 100 new, returning or improved accessibility features.
Marvel’s Wolverine launches September 15, 2026 for PlayStation 5. The new details make the central design philosophy unusually clear: this is not Spider-Man combat with claws attached. Insomniac is building the entire loop around staying close, sustaining pressure and making Logan feel dangerous.
