The clues are not limited to visual static. Fans digging through the page have surfaced fragments styled like confidential reports and cargo records, including references to dates and locations inside the StarCraft universe. Blizzard has not attached an announcement to any of it, which is exactly why people are trying to work out what the campaign is pointing toward.
Reddit has picked the teaser apart at scale. A thread in r/Games passed a thousand upvotes, while the StarCraft community has been comparing which parts of Blizzard's sites are changing and which are not. The strongest consensus is simply that the glitches are deliberate; what they actually tease is still wide open.
That distinction matters because several very different possibilities are circulating. Fans have floated a new game, additional content for the original StarCraft, and the long-rumored idea of a shooter set in the universe. None of those outcomes has been confirmed by Blizzard, so the hidden-message hunt is more reliable than any specific theory attached to it.
BlizzCon makes the timing difficult to ignore. Blizzard's convention begins September 12, giving the company a natural stage to explain why one of its oldest franchises suddenly appears to be transmitting corrupted messages across its homepage.
For now, the useful fact is not that StarCraft 3 or a shooter is definitely coming. It is that Blizzard itself has changed the official StarCraft site in a way designed to make fans investigate it — and less than a week before BlizzCon, they are doing exactly that.
