Nintendo is turning next week into a two-day event. One day after its Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct, the company will hold a second Nintendo Direct on September 9 focused on games coming to Nintendo Switch 2 this winter.
Nintendo says the September 9 presentation will begin at 7 a.m. PT and run for roughly 45 minutes. Unlike the Zelda-specific broadcast the day before, this one is positioned as a broader look at the Switch 2 lineup, giving players a clearer reason to watch even if they are not following the anniversary celebration.
There is another wrinkle this time: Nintendo Treehouse Live will follow the Direct with gameplay from select titles shown during the presentation. That means at least some of the announcements should move quickly from trailer footage into longer demonstrations.
The timing is doing a lot of the work here. Nintendo is heading into the first major holiday season for Switch 2, so a showcase built specifically around winter releases can help define what the system looks like after its launch-window rush.
Nintendo has not published a complete game list for the broadcast, and that is where speculation is already filling the gap. The safer expectation is the one Nintendo itself has set: around 45 minutes of Switch 2 software, followed by hands-on-style Treehouse coverage.
The Nintendo Direct streams September 9 at 7 a.m. PT. The Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct airs one day earlier, September 8, at the same time.
