The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 open beta is now over. Infinity Ward extended the final session by 12 hours, moving the shutdown from its original September 1 at 10:00 a.m. PT deadline to September 1 at 10:00 p.m. PT.

Why it mattersInfinity Ward gave Modern Warfare 4 players 12 extra hours, pushing the open beta to September 1 at 10 PM PT before the test finally went offline.

That final cutoff was September 2 at 1:00 a.m. ET and 5:00 a.m. UTC. Infinity Ward announced the extension as players were making a last push for beta rewards and kept Double XP and Double Weapon XP active until the servers closed.

The extra time explains why searches for the beta end time surged even after the original deadline had passed. Activision had previously published September 1 at 10:00 a.m. PT as the official end of Weekend Two, but the late extension added another half-day to the test.

The open beta included Multiplayer, the Entrenched campaign mission and Warzone Resurgence on Zodiac. Infinity Ward also used the two beta weekends to make repeated live changes to weapon balance, time-to-kill, movement, spawns and other systems based on player data and feedback.

Infinity Ward’s final beta patch notes say the studio is now taking that feedback into the launch build, specifically calling out weapons, TTK, movement and spawns among the areas it will continue reviewing. The studio described the pace of updates during the beta as the communication standard it wants to carry forward.

There is no announced third beta weekend or another extension. The next scheduled access is Campaign Early Access on October 16 for eligible preorders, followed by the full Modern Warfare 4 launch on October 23 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2.

For anyone asking when the MW4 beta ends, the clean answer is: it ended September 1 at 10:00 p.m. Pacific after a 12-hour extension. Any further playable period would require a new announcement from Activision or Infinity Ward.
