KATSEYE has reached a new career milestone: WILD, the group’s third EP, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 dated August 29, giving the global girl group its first chart-topping album in the United States.
Billboard reported 170,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. for the week ending August 20. Of that total, 145,000 came from album sales, while 24,500 were streaming-equivalent units and roughly 500 were track-equivalent units.
The result is especially significant because WILD arrived only two years after KATSEYE’s 2024 debut. Their previous EP Beautiful Chaos peaked at No. 4, so the new release represents a clear jump in both chart position and first-week scale.
WILD was released August 14 through HYBE x Geffen Records. The standard project contains five tracks: PINKY UP, Animal, Hootie Frutti, Bel Air and That Way. The campaign leaned heavily on multiple physical editions and collectible packaging.
That physical strategy mattered. Billboard’s breakdown shows traditional album sales doing most of the work in the opening week, while streaming still contributed tens of millions of on-demand plays to the total.
For KATSEYE, the No. 1 is bigger than a single good week. It confirms that the group’s global-pop model can translate into top-tier U.S. album demand, not just viral singles and social reach.
