Disney and TikTok are building a new bridge between fan-made short-form video and streaming. The companies announced a global partnership centered on creator access to Disney intellectual property and distribution of selected fan content.

Why it mattersDisney and TikTok have announced a global short-form partnership that will let participating creators make Disney-focused content and bring selected fan videos into Disney+ Verts.

The program is expected to pilot in the United States in the coming months before expanding to other markets. Participating creators who opt in can have eligible TikTok videos appear both on TikTok and inside Verts on Disney+.

TikTok says creators will gain access to assets connected to hundreds of Disney movies and series, including properties from Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and FX. The deal is designed around curated fan creativity rather than unrestricted reuse of Disney material.

The unusual part is the distribution path: short-form fan videos are not staying only on a social platform. Selected creator work can move into Disney’s own streaming environment, putting user-generated culture alongside professionally produced franchises.

For creators, the opportunity will depend on eligibility, opt-in rules and the assets made available as the U.S. pilot rolls out. Wider-market availability has been announced as an intention, not an immediate global launch.
